This summer's project was some truss to hang my EMI speaker cabs from, along with my housemate's TV.
As this post is 4 months late, I'll cut a long story (on Google+) short with some statistics:
- Around 1000 cuts with an angle grinder
- 15 slitting discs worn down
- Over 100 man-hours to build (15 days of building, ~7 hours a day)
- Nearly 500 welds
- 80 meters of metal
- Over 1 hour to assemble the finished truss into a structure
- 168 10mm holes drilled (for 84 M8 bolts)
- 18 stone supported in the centre of the main span
