Long time, no see.
It's been about six weeks since I last blogged - what's happened? Did I fall off my bike in the canal? Did I get chained to my desk to prevent me leaving Avo to finish my degree? Did I get snowed under with work in the first week of uni?
Nope. I was doing some top secret (unless you live in the right circles on G+) work on a new blog site, so took a break from writing new posts to get maximum coding time in. There were slidey boxes, there was a cool overview, and the ability to post beautiful little pictures straight into the post stream. Or at least there would have been. I hit a couple of bugs in Polymer/Chrome/my code which delayed the project just enough for uni to start, at which point I had to stop.
Unfortunately, this means the new site has stagnated, partly due to loss of momentum (I was so sure that wouldn't happen this time) and mostly to stop me getting distracted from my degree. Hopefully once day I'll finish it off, but that's unlikely to happen in the next 8 months.
The good news is that this means I can do guilt-free blogging again. I've been up to quite a lot in the past couple of months, and that should only get more exciting as my final year progresses, so there should be plenty of material. If all goes to plan, my weekly (ish) Monday morning, 6am posts should return to your screens. Some possible posts to look forward to:
- PLASA 2013 roundup
- CrapBike II: The Trailer
- The Coolest Room in Halls, a series including
- The Hanging Herb Garden of Babylon
- Afternoon Desk Build
- The Return of the Truss
- Pushing Wedding Atire Too Far?
As well as my printing press finally materialising. If I can actually knuckle down and do some writing, this could be a good couple of months. If not, expect another similarly lame post in six weeks time!
And for reading this far, a picture from my phone. Points to anyone who can guess the primary item I'm transporting:
